Glass

Wagga Glass & Aluminium is a stockist and supplier of a wide range of residential and commercial glass including double glazed windows, laminated, energy-efficient, safety, security and even self-cleaning glass. We can supply glass and mirror, cut-to-size for any application.

Toughened (tempered) Glass

Toughened glass is one of two kinds of safety glass regularly used in applications in which standard glass could pose a potential danger. Toughened glass is up to four to five times stronger than standard glass and does not break into sharp shards when it fails. Glass is heated to an extremely high temperature and then rapidly cooled which causes the outer surface of the glass to be compressed, which in turn increases the tension internally. When the glass is broken, it shatters into small uniform particles instead of dangerous shards, far less likely to cause injury. Toughened glass can be ordered to size via Viridian.

Float Glass

Float is manufactured in either clear or toned (grey, bronze and green). It is available in a wide range of sizes enabling designers and customers to fill large transparent openings economically. It provides ease of cutting and it is ideal for further processing into a range of products available for general glazing, laminating, toughening, high performance coating, mirrors and decorative paint finishes. Clear float provides high light transmission and visibility. It is suitable for conventional and double glazed windows. When safety is required for doors and partitions, it is specified in toughened, laminated or toughened laminate forms complying with the requirements of Building Codes and Standards. Toned float glass provides colour and energy management by reducing solar heat gain, while retaining good daylight transmission and low reflectivity. It also provides reductions in UV. VFloat toned is available in grey, bronze and green. It can be toughened, laminated or used as a toughened laminate. We stock clear float in thicknesses ranging from 2mm through to 15mm, whilst toned float is available from 4mm through to 12mm.

Laminated Glass

Laminated glass consists of two or more sheets of glass bonded together by heat and pressure with an interlayer of either PVB, EVA or a specialist high strength ionoplast interlayer. It is the starting point when safety, security, noise and structural integrity are major considerations. Laminated glass can resist penetration from accidental impact, provides resistance to penetration from physical attack, provides good noise dampening over the same thickness of float glass, eliminates 99% of ultraviolet radiation and can be manufactured with toned solar control glass and interlayers providing glare and solar heat gain reductions We are able to supply custom laminated glass produced in our factory or supply the following types of laminated glass: Hush ComfortHush Translucent, Translucent Grey, Soft White Grey, Bronze, Green, SuperGreen, SuperBlue ComfortPlus Observa IntruderGuard AssaultGuard AssaultGuard Ultra JailGuard BulletGuard

Mirror

We stock a wide range of decorative glass including the Viridian DécorMirror™ range of products. As a high specification mirror it incorporates outstanding protection of the reflective silver coating, without the need for the copper layer used in conventional mirror processes. These mirrors offer designers the ability to create emotive spaces using light and reflection with clear, tinted, safety and satin mirrors are maunfactured to provide greater resistance to natural corrosion, helping to minimise the unsightly problems of black edges and spot faults. Also available are Viridian DécorMirror Safe™ and Viridian DécorMirror™ Laminate that comply with AS/NZS2208 for Grade A safety glazing materials. DécorMirror Safe is available in two different vinyl types, DécorMirror Safe™ SB and DécorMirror Safe™ WB. DécorMirror Safe™ SB is backed with a smooth vinyl film, whereas DécorMirror Safe™ WB features a woven vinyl backing. For observation areas, use Viridian DécorMirror™ Venetian where the coating is applied in stripes or alternatively, Viridian Observa™ for one-way  vision that effectively provides discreet, unobtrusive monitoring.

Patterned Glass

Our patterned range of glass is available in white or clear patten and is primarily used where areas require obscuration and privacy and for areas where privacy from overlooking is required – without sacrificing natural light. Popular styles include Satinlite, Spotswood, Cathedral and Glue Chip, or for something special you could try DécorSatin™ which is treated with an acid etch which lets the glass let in 90% of light but diffuses to give a natural feel Popular applications include windows (for privacy and decoration), shower and bath enclosures, door inserts and louvres. Pyroceramic Glass We stock and sell heat resistant pyroceramic wood stove and fireplace glass. Whilst it is commonly referred to as glass it is actually a transparent ceramic which has virtually zero thermal expansion and can stand extremely high temperatures. If your wood heater or fireplace glass is broken or damaged, contact us to arrange its replacement. Energy Efficiency Our comprehensive range of Viridian Low-E products offer improved thermal insulation and a choice of solar control performance with low visible light reflection. Manufactured in Australia, the range is designed for our climate regions and to help meet energy requirements. Being a local manufacturers, Viridian understands our climate is unlike that of Northern Europe or the United States. That’s why they offer a comprehensive choice of Solar Control Low E products to help reduce the extremes of Australia’s warmer weather, balanced with opportunities for passive solar heating. Their range has been expanded to include a choice of performance and colours, including greys, greens, neutral and clear to satisfy different designs objectives. Using the durable pyrolytic hard coat technology enables the Low E coating to be single glazed and exposed to the interior of a building to provide improved thermal insulation. The products can also be used as part of a laminated glass or in an insulated glass unit.
